Why Holy Week?
Did you know? The week before Easter is called Holy Week. The week following Easter is Easter Week. Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday and the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem riding on a colt, the foal of a donkey. The people laid palm branches along his way to welcome him as their king. Hosanna to the son of David! Glory in the highest places! Lots of celebration.
If we go from Palm Sunday straight to Easter Day - the greatest celebration in the Church's year - we miss out on the journey of the weekdays leading up to Easter.
Join us for the journey this year.
